In this paper, I consider the necessity and significance of establishing "women\u27s welfare" as a field of social welfare. There are already some support programs for women\u27s problems in social welfare. However, they are so partial, temporary and restrictive that they are not sufficient to solve women\u27s problems completely. Moreover, the present systems of social welfare as a whole are premised on the gender division of labor. It is well known, that the gender division of labor is censured as the main cause of women\u27s problems. For that reason, social welfare cannot solve women\u27s problems as it is.
